Here we are for round three, we chatted with our consultant and decided to introduce a trigger injection to this round. It may be a case that my follicles are growing, but I am still not actually ovulating, once there is a follicle of the right size, I would do a trigger injection to effectively force the release of an egg and then have timed intercourse so many hours after the injection.
Follicle scan one. 6 follicles measured, 3 on the left measuring 11.9mm, 10.3mm & 7.0mm, and 3 on the right measuring 9.9mm, 10.0mm & 6.0mm. Uterus lining was probably the thinnest I had experienced at just 4.63mm, but there was still time for it to thicken up! We were asked to come back 4 days later for another follicle scan.
Follicle scan Two. 4 follicles measured, 2 on the left measuring 17.8mm & 9.7mm, and 2 on the right measuring 8.3mm & 8.9mm. We have a winner! A follicle needs to be about 18mm to be a dominant follicle and I had one follicle pretty much there! The uterus lining needs to be over 6 but more ideally over 7mm and that day mine was 6.86mm.
I was thrilled, everything looked perfect! I was given a lesson on how to mix the injection and how to give it to myself. Armed with the injection and my instructions including what time to administer the injection and what time to have sex, we drove home absolutely buzzing!
The next morning the 15th May at 8am on the dot I prepared and gave myself the injection, I really had to psych myself up for it. I have it ready and I had pinched an inch! Breathing in and out of my mouth quickly to gear myself up, I inserted the needle and…hardly felt it going in. DRAMA QUEEN! We followed all the instructions and had sex on the date and time that we were told to.
And now it was just a waiting game…
31st May – Hello period, hello tears, hello heartbreak. I had spent the past 2 weeks convincing myself I was pregnant, of course I do this every month, but this month was different.
I was so heartbroken, I ended up getting signed off of work for a month because I was just so low. I couldn’t pick myself back up, I didn’t want to leave the house or see anyone.
It was then, I decided I needed another fur baby, I had so much love to give and I needed another animal to give it to. 3 days later we picked up another Jackapoo puppy, Doris daydream. A little black bundle of fluff. She fitted in so well, even the cat liked her.
We called Doris the band aid dog, and she really was. After having her for about 3 weeks I heard Ben say to Doris quietly, “Thank you for making Mummy happy again” and I just melted!!
I’m not crying you are!
My Baby girls ❤
