9. ROUND TWO

Wanda

February 2019 and round two of clomid began!

Follicle scan one revealed 3 follicles worth measuring. Two on the left measuring 11.5mm, 8.4mm and one on the right measuring 9.8mm. Uterus lining was 6.6mm at this stage.

None of the follicles were big enough at this stage, but they were growing and the uterus lining was looking promising so we were asked to go back for another scan 4 days later.

Follicle scan Two. Still 3 follicles, two on the left now measuring 12.2mm and 10.8mm and one on the right measuring 8.5mm (gone down). The uterus lining measured 7.15mm. Not a massive growth for the follicles in 4 days. We were asked to return for a third scan 3 days later.

Follicle scan Three. This time 5 follicles were measured. Three on the left measuring, 14.6mm, 11.6mm & 9.4mm. Two on the right measuring, 10.3mm & 10.2mm. Still none of them big enough to be considered dominant and to show us any signs on ovulation coming. Uterus lining was now 7.36mm so in prime thickness.

We went straight to the airport that afternoon as we were going to Edinburgh for Ben’s 30th Birthday. We did the deed anyway just in case!

We had a lovely weekend away and I tried my best not to let my tiny follicles bother me, but of course they did.

The nurse told me that I had been unresponsive this round unfortunately. I was so disappointed, I know I shouldn’t have, but I had built up so much hope for these little tablets to finally give us the family we so desperately wanted. I was so sad, I felt so empty, but once again I had to pick myself up and carry on, because if one thing is for sure, not being a mother is not an option for me, However we get there.

I had a break for the next cycle, which ended up being a bloody long one, so it wasn’t until May that we started round three of clomid.
